SØREN SEJR
Søren Sejr is a Danish artist based in Aarhus, Denmark. Sejr works in painting, sculpture, and graphic. In recent years, Sejr has increasingly focused on abstraction and monochrome color surfaces in his works.
Sejr's works range from medium to grand formats. Due to his minimalistic idiom, otherwise subtle differences in composition, nuance, and texture stand out and crystalize - in both his paintings, reliefs, and sculptures. Some works are made from found materials, which he transforms and stages. In the creating and transforming of works and objects, Sejr manages to highlight the details, beauty, and character of the works. His recent works are mainly black and white, which brings into play the daylight. Our own movements and the way the light changes during the day creates a vivid surface due to Sejr's tentative approach towards material, reflection, and tactility.
Sejr graduated from Aarhus Art Academy. He has done several solo exhibitions and numerous group shows. Sejr has done public commissions, is represented in museum, public, and private collections.
